Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi there. I’m Jenn. I’m 44 and the mother of one amazing daughter who’s graduating high school this year and heading to Hofstra University in Long Island, NY! I’m very proud of her. I’ve been an ER Nurse for over 15 years now and love what I do!
What brought you to CrossFit?
My friend, Ana Herrera asked if I’d be interested in joining CrossFit Hays since I had done CrossFit in the past and she knew I’d be interested. I was excited and nervous at the same time because I was pretty heavy and had hurt myself doing box jumps some three years ago.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I started in October but it was really November because shortly after I started I went on a 14-day vacation. When I got back from vacation is when I really made up my mind and was committed!
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?
I love CrossFit Hays because they are prepared and always have a proper modification for me as I advance. I feel supported by so many. CrossFit has allowed me to breathe again, I ride my bike 4X a week and love it! I go to CrossFit at least 5X a week on the alternating weeks that I’m off from work. I continue to grow and challenge myself.
Favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
Don’t really have one yet. I just enjoy showing up and surprising myself.
Least favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
EMOM for 12 min., where we had to do 30 kettle bell swings then a 100m sprint for what seemed like a lifetime!
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit.
Stay consistent.
Improve my squats.
Master the burpee.
Just be able to jump rope with ease!
