Congratulations to our August 2017 Athlete of the Month!
Sadie Curran
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
From Dripping Spring, born and raised. I have lived here my entire life. Growing up, I played every sport I could but, as I got older softball was where my heart was. I work at a pre-school as a teacher. I have a healthy obsession with tacos. Aspiring Veterinarian. I usually spend my free time with my family at events, hiking and enjoying life.
What brought you to CrossFit?
After becoming bored with the Globo Gym scene, I needed a community that would help push me to achieve my goals because there was no way I was going to reach them on my own.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I started CrossFit almost two years ago, at CrossFit Hays thanks to Doug Caceres. He was the one that encouraged me to signed up.
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?
It has made me stronger, healthier and more confident about myself.
Favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
My personal favorite movement would have to be deadlift.
Least favorite CrossFit lift/movement?
Thrusters of course! Nothing better than having your legs and shoulder feeling like they are filled with hot lava.
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit.
My most desirable goal is upper body strength to be able to do rope climbs, pull-ups.
Anything else you want to add.
Set your own goals and push yourself. But the most important thing to remember is to have freaking fun, we aren’t curing cancer, we are working out together. Laugh, smile, have fun and make some friends!
